  1. Well the only thing I liked about today’s episode was the introduction of the ex-girlfriend and some of the drama she is supposed to be bringing with her. I also really didn’t like how we didn’t get a true introduction to the arrival of Hero’s cousin/brother and was just abruptly shown he was now here and that was that. Everything else just felt meh and fine. I still have absolutely zero interest in the characters of Tiger and Only.

  2. 😆 Pop and Hero are not only housemates they are also bedmates. Though none has declared they’re boyfriends, they are very comfortable around each other at home and in school. They’re inseparable. Pop was too lazy to fetch the shampoo Hero requested. Hero would come out of the shower b*tt nekkid to retrieve the shampoo himself. That’s how comfortable they are with each other.

😆 Yep! the snooty cousin lost to Hero’s new brother. Hero cuts Pop’s steak and would not feed his own cousin at demand. Hero even walked out in his bathing suit freely which his cousin was against. Without trying, Pop got the cousin all jealous over him.

In one episode, we have an overbearing cousin visit on Hero’s side. Then a clueless ex-girlfriend returned to Pop’s side. Just as Hero and Pop settled in their new home together, there are unwelcome unpleasant guests get in their way.

While the drama goes on between Pop and Hero, Only and Tiger are in a love-hate relationship. It’s not original, but this is the first uncensored version of the catch-me-I’m-falling cliche. I don’t think any viewer would have missed this scene since the sound effect makes the misplaced hand obvious. 😆 😂 🤣

We’re half-way through the series. What else are we expecting?

  3. So far, this is pretty toothless. It lacks the intensity of any of the other adaptations.

There’s not a single side character I feel any attachment to. The cousin doesn’t give off nearly the menacing vibe that is expected. Not that I want them to include the r*pe scene, but Hero is not as gritty as one would expect. (Changing his father’s background from military to successful businessman, I guess they couldn’t figure out how to explain the level of pathological macho that the character has in the book.) The ex-girlfriend comes off as way too childish feeling to pull of the level of sophisticated social manipulation that she does in the book.

Overall, its like a watered down version. Even with that, we aren’t getting the emotional connection. They’re actors and they are performing a part, but its not supposed to feel performative.

  4. I tried really hard, but there’s no escaping the comparisons…I mean this just so meh when I compare it to Stay with Me…the scenes almost felt like disjoint clips….little context or continuity, very little build-up, and consequently the intensity is big time missing….even if the chemistry is about okay and I liked the few initial scenes solely because of that, without a strong story it will fall flat….I feel almost sad for the leads…they needed a better script and team
