  4. Me smiling like the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland while watching the empress and emperor finally bonding! It’s the only part I truly enjoyed in this episode, I want to see more of them and their blossoming love and partnership.

  10. Ziyu testing his Empress to see if her loyalty lies with him or that conniving “father”
    So glad she has words to tell him what he longs to hear….finally someone is willing to walk with him, hand in hand.
    They both need to make plans for that Shi minister, take him down now, before he trips over that big boots that can never fit him…. “Wanna be Emperor grandfather” 😡

    Love is in the air(once more) for Maintang and Xing Zhuo 💘❤️💙
    I think he deserved the whack from grandpa…that should be the payback for any harm caused to his grand daughter…end of conflicts!

  11. the small details of her putting the cane in the hand of her grandfather and Cui shows us that she cares for Cui as much as she does her grandfather.

    I love the way both men stood there with their clothes and canes, in the exact same position as each other.

  13. I enjoyed this ep. It wasn’t flashy, but it was heartfelt and moved the story in good ways.
    I expected the emperor and empress to head this way, altho I didn’t expect her to say she was protecting herself and they were in the same boat. I had’t thought of it that way.. but it’s very honest, and it was great to see all that their scenes meant even tho not everything needed to be said.
    I also enjoyed the talk with the grandfather and Cui.. When he arrived I thought it would be a comical scene ( for us, Cui can be quite wry) where he asks for her hand. But no, he not only came with apologies and for punishment , but explained to her grandfather all the wonderful, independent things she is and she got to hear it also. Happiness
