  1. Why is it kinda cringey ? And i feel like the age gap btw actors is really visible… lowkey like it though because i like the actress playing FL

  2. THIS IS SUCH A FUN START BUT A LITTLE SLOW AND BORING BUT IT’S JUST FIRST EP, LEMME WAIT AND SEE FOR EP 3 TO 4 AND GLAD TO SEE SANGMIN AGAIN AND HYUNBEEN UNNIE
    THE PHOTOSHOOT IS CUTE

  3. Careful now, he’s two romcoms away from getting typecast.
About this first episode, 🤔 there are parts I find interesting. I’ll wait for episode 2 to decide.

  4. A new drama with Moon Sang Min from ”Wedding Impossible” and Shin Hyun Been from ”Tell Me That You Love Me”??! I am totally going to watch this!!! Good luck Yun Seo on trying to break up with him!! xD

  5. The weekends are now crazy over-saturated with new dramas being released left and right. How is one expected to keep up? 😅

  6. I like the the actor who plays the ML’s brother. I guess the brother will turn into an ally as thanks to his Mother, his marriage didn’t turn out OK.

  7. I don’t like noona romance or ahjussi younger girl drama but when its not obvious i can actually watch it. However, in this one she does look older than him since he has a very baby face. I also cant seem to see their chemistry when they supposedly have dated quite some times.

Gonna give this a try until the next ep. Glad to see Yoon Bak in the screen again, its been a while

  8. Hmmm I don’t usually like this actress’s acting but this is kinda cute. Its also interesting that their age difference wasn’t bought up at all in this episode. Thats kinda refreshing coz their age gap isn’t even an afterthought just like older male/younger female dramas.

  9. its just the 1st ep and it’s pretty soon to declare i like it, but im a big loser for losercore mls so i like it. Ther you go i said it.

  10. This was a cute first episode, but i don’t think it was anything out of the box crazy. Nothing particularly stood out to me, and I can anticipate what the next 9 episodes will be like. I think that this mediocracy is dependent on the writers’ ability to create multidimensional characters. In which, I know that the actors can portray such roles to a high degree. While they attempt to exploit overused tropes to create a captivating storyline, it seems that they miss grounding this drama in reality in order to make it relatable. These tropes will only be majorly successful if the writers add social commentary relevant to present day.

The FL’s reasons for taking the money are lackluster at best. As it is right now, there is nothing separating this drama from others made in the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. It’s already revealed that she’s in a good financial situation without the added money, and there’s really no need for her to accept it. She has a high rank in a big company, where she actually has superiority over her peers of the same age. She also has savings for her brother’s college. There is nothing hinting at any financial problems at all, which lessons the impact of her choice. If the writers had included any modern problem like housing, raising children, retirement costs, etc., their argument would’ve been stronger. Likewise, if they included any flashbacks of her childhood where she struggled financially, it would be greater understood that her actions are due to past trauma. Her words alone are underwhelming, and the delivery of this issue is just not interesting.

The characters have little to no depth. The FL is a career driven women who grew up in poverty and sacrifices her romantic relationship for wealth. The ML is a chaebol who is in a relationship with the FL. Besides these facts, literally stated in the trailer, there is no other information. It feels unauthentic and leaves little room for character development. How can a character develop when the depth they have at the beginning leaves them incapable of doing so? While one can say that this is the first episode and critiques may be preemptive, there are countless movies and short films that quickly make the audience empathize and relate to it’s characters in 90 minutes or less, all while telling a complete narrative. What makes a great drama today is when the writers effectively do this. Take “Love Next Door” for example. In the first episode, the writers have already established the characters, the conflict, and the suspense for audience to want to continue watching the next episode just based on the characters’ personalities alone. In Cinderella at 2AM, from the first episode the audience can foresee the storyline because there’s literally nothing new about this drama. Every scene was a trope copy and pasted from dozen’s of kdramas before it, and because the characters have no depth, it’s not exciting.

The only character that was entertaining was the ML’s brother. His establishment as a character as well as his relationships with others are vastly more complicated than the FL and ML combined. His character actually showed his dedication to his family and the conflict that leaves him but indirectly and discreet. Firstly, his placement in the company shows his competence in the office and at his home. His conversations with his brother and his mother further reveal his priorities as a family oriented man. The thing that makes him the most interesting is his relationship to his wife and how that affects his relationship to both his mother and his brother. At the dinner table, when his mother tells him about meeting the FL, he shows disdain and contempt towards her because of how she drove away his love. He therefore tells his brother about this, which then highlights his protective nature towards the ML and his regrets about his own situation. The use of social media in his relationship effectively emphasizes his willingness to rectify his failing marriage by breaking the rules and deceiving those he loves. His character is the only truly thought out and multifaceted character in the drama so far.

Although I said all of these negative things about this drama, that doesn’t mean that I will not continue it. I just wanted to point out why it doesn’t and probably won’t live up to my standards and how characterization affects what makes a good kdrama and what doesn’t 🙂

  11. I liked FL’s acting in Hospital Playlist but since then it falls flat for me…she plays sad emotions well, but comedy is not for her imo. She also seems to always be on the verge of smiling or is that just me? Her facial expressions sometimes don’t fit the emotion she wants to portray. I’ll give her another few episodes though…

on another note: did ML reject playing Sunjae’ s characters because he knew he was going to play a loser in love in this drama lol

  12. It’s a shame that the lead guy’s role here is too similar to his pervious drama, which makes this one kind of repetitive and boring. I’m not feeling the heart fluttering chemistry between the couple!

  13. Hmmn, typical rom-com but I like the vibe, might stick around for a few more eps n then decide. But so far, cute n bubbly

  14. It is a cool twist cause you have this at the half way point of a show so I am excited to see the path it will take.

  15. It’s Moon Sangmin and I already love it.
    hahaha 😆
Be ready gurl! He’ll be clingy real clingy.
I wonder how clingy guy will appear like.
If me myself, I wouldn’t be able to control myself from keep on falling lol.

Now, should I keep this piled up then only watch, or should I watch it once it aired every episode… Let’s wait for ep 2 and decide. Hehehee

  16. Fictional writing made for entertainment purposes people!!! Who cares about age gaps whether it’s between the leads being cast or the would be couples in the drama when it’s just a story? Or if the pair show strong chemistry? However, this pair didn’t display any in this opening ep and there are always plenty of things to discuss, such as how this writer doesn’t seem to have had one original thought of their own when working on this script. Mediocrity is one thing but overused cliches deserve to be trashed. Its like copy/paste with stories nowadays but the stars are randomly taken from a slot machine spin in order to answer ‘who should we cast today’? Let’s see what tomorrow brings, I’m not disappointed with what shown but definitely not impressed either~

  17. haha I like how the brothers actually have a good relationship unlike most of the chaebol sibling relationships in most dramas where they’re fighting over to be the ceo position

  18. As historias são diferentes, mas a historia deste drama faz eu lembrar do Destined with You.

  19. Def I will pass this one, she is too old for him and the age gap is REALLY visible, she is a great actress and him is fantastic too but this is a no for me, I felt 0 chemestry and I can’t with the age gap honestly.

  20. This was a cute episode so far BUTT Im ONLY here for the main lead male LOL
ALSO: I have INCREDIBLE Deja Vu!!! WHY does EVERYTHING…OKAY NOT everything{like two maybe three things that are NOT the same} BUTT EVERYTHING ELSE :THE WORK Place, the co-workers, Ju won REMIND ME of the LAST drama Ju won was in???? THE ONE where Ju won WAS the younger brother whos older brother turned out to be gay and than hid it by getting married and Ju won stole her from the brother……THAT drama AND this one have too many similarities….

  21. The first episode is acceptable, but to be honest, there’s no chemistry at all between the male lead (ML) and the female lead (FL). I’m watching this drama because of the ML—I loved him so much in Under the Queen’s Umbrella. With his looks and height, of course, he’s suitable for the role of a rich family’s son, but I really hope he doesn’t get typecast. I’m going to watch the next episode, and I don’t mind the age gap (hence we call it a drama, something to watch while we are bored, sad, happy, nothing to do, etc). Love is blind—duh. Let’s see how clingy he will be.
