Synopsis: The drama is about a monster that hides in a sinkhole and consumes human souls. In searching for this creature, the characters find themselves in horrific situations and turn into the same cruel monsters and, in turn, realize what makes us human, and how precious courage and loyalty are to human life.

Lee Hwa Sun (Kim Ok Bin) is a homicide detective in the the Seoul Regional Investigation Department. She comes to the city of Mujishi to find out her husband’s murderer. Later she learns that the people in Mujishi have been transformed into monsters after breathing mysterious dark smoke from a sinkhole. There she meets Yoo Tae Han (Lee Joon Hyuk), who is a native of Mujishi and a wreck car driver. Yoo Tae Han has a carefree personality but he has a strong sense of justice. Together they must fight to survive and save others from danger.
