  1. Up to episode 5 and having a hard time getting into this drama & paying attention compared to other historical K-dramas. And, it’s 24 episodes…oof. Part of it may be due to the translations, but the story feels unclear on what some of the characters are doing. Also, even though this is a revisionist take on real historical figures, what the King’s true character is and what he’s trying to do feels murky & confused. He’s antagonistic with almost everyone but then occasionally seems sentimental about his son in private ramblings around his eunuch.
