  3. That ENDING! 😆😆😆 Her mom’s shocked face…hahaha
    As much as I like Mai Dong, it would be nice if he asks and listen to Zhuang Jie’s reasons for not wanting to remain in hometown. From what she told her bestie, ZJ felt so uncomfortable since her accident because the whole town was talking about it, staring at her etc so you can imagine going through that day in day out…it’s a horrible feeling. Plus there is a scene in earlier eps. where MD’s friends were talking about ZJ’s disability…comparing her younger and older self etc and I found it disgusting. So imagine being a topic of discussion in that manner. Yeah, noway I would want live in that town too. Yes, people in her hometown are nice and acknowledge her greatness but I think to ZJ, it’s more about escaping the past and avoiding any potential risk. So I get her reasons. Someone said ZJ has to choose “being unknown and unafraid in the big city and being known and loved in her hometown”
    Also, Mai Dong hasn’t once asked her why she has to leave. It’s like for him, it’s staying in hometown or nothing. I really hope they find a middle ground but also would hate for ZJ ending up making the sacrifice.

  6. Nah the family dynamics in this drama is one of the best and most realistic I have ever seen. The ending scene was too funny, they need to stop kissing in very public lol. I feel like the mum will be against it but come around eventually. Yeah I wonder if she would go back to Shanghai or not. Thank goodness this drama is 21 episodes so no dragging. Also interested to see how her friends story will go, love her as an actress. I also like their fashion of them in this drama, it was well done

  7. I’m still laughing about the scene where Cui Ge grabbed Wang Xi Xia’s head to show her the acupoint. What that could’ve looked like to other ppl out in public 😣

  9. Like others said, I understand the possible underlying trauma FL could have from her growing up in the town and why she is reluctant to stay. I even think regardless of any trauma or not she has every right to choose where she wants to stay and shouldn’t have to compromise her life for ML.

    Understanding and agreeing with all of the above, It still frustrates me how she can’t make up her mind. I mean it’s obvious that ML can’t leave due to his grandma and she doesn’t want to leave Shanghai which is totally up to her but she should have just left the poor guy alone. The guy already comes across as someone with abandonment issues even if she didn’t know his story by his reserved nature.

    She lit a fire under him and doesn’t wanna take any responsibility? I know she’ll probably come to the realization that she loves him more than Shanghai but god don’t lead him on until you’re sure.

    I still love the FL and I’m rooting for her but in their relationship I’m on the ML’s side. He definitely lover her more than she loves him.

    Lastly, I hope the writers won’t disappoint us with the classic “mom doesn’t approve” trope in the next episode. I’m already starting to lose my faith in motherhood from watching the mom in Best choice ever which I dropped when I felt like the story is going in the direction of a redemption arc for mom.

  11. Okay I won’t jump to conclusions and think mom is gonna go bazooka on seeing that. 😆After all, she’s the reasonable one advising madam wu about her backwards views on modern couples. Hopefully???? 🤞🏽

    Man I’m in my happy place with this drama.
