1. Just from watching the mom I feel exhausted. Ask for the rent pack for the remaining months and move out. Selling your daughter to become rich, squatting in a house that’s not yours to be able to brag that you’re rich – she takes shameless to a whole new level. I don’t understand why her husband won’t put his foot down. This so embarassing.

5. No matter how good this show is, I am strongly considering dropping it based solely on the mom’s character. It would be forgiving if she had her own storyline, like petty conflicts competing with the neighborhood ladies, but her character is embedded in the ML, FL, and 2nd ML’s story and it has become intolerable to watch. Every week she gets worse. The only consequence she has received is the rift between her and her daughter, which by the way, has not added value to her character one bit. It is so insufferable that all the comments are about her; as opposed to, the story developing between the FL and the ML. I get the overaggressive parents trope, but this is unwarranted. The little brother constantly tells her it’s not her fault. The simp father has become the poster child for spousal abuse and now our ML has been downgraded to a peasant living in the attic of a home he owns All this to support the mom’s undeserved privilege and grandiosity. I mean you can only tell your husband he isn’t s**t so many ways, yet, she has a new way every episode. She is given a level of understanding and compromise I have never seen before in a KDrama. Even though the FL stood up for herself, we still have to sit through her pitiful, guilty, regretful facial expressions every time she comes in contact with her mother. I can’t with this mess it’s too much.

7. Sigh, why don’t the Mais just get their own place? The mother and her entitled attitude just to impress her friends – the place is not yours lady. If it is uncomfortable for your daughter, why not let it go… just for once. Always so damn willful and selfish, ugh.

   ZhiMing kinda confessed his scheming to her as if it was over, but he’s still making promises to Botticelli tho hmmm 🙄🙄🙄. I feel like he genuinely wants to try keeping a family bond going (mostly because of his feelings for ChengHuan) while helping ‘the competition’, but it also kinda feels like he still has an ulterior motive too. At least he won’t put his grandma’s hotel in harm’s way deliberately, but that other woman is hella salty and won’t roll-over and play nice since she didn’t get what she expected. She’s gonna cause trouble for him for sure.

9. This mom is the worst. She never apologized to her daughter for slapping her and trying to force her to marry just so she could show off to her relatives and frenemies for having rich in-laws. She didn’t learn a thing even after forcing FL to leave home. All she thinks about is herself, not her kids. After all this, she continues to use her daughter and ignores her son.

   I’ve never wanted a character to go away so badly, but this mom really needs to go away. I wished the grandma was still here and not the mom. She’s adding nothing but aggravation and headache for her family.

   ML is a fool for not setting boundary with her mom. Even if he’s trying to win over FL, he should set limits with her family, specifically her mom. He’s a lost puppy and all that without a real family, but her mom is definitely not someone who will ever provide a good family setting for him. She’s too greedy and only uses her kids, so she’ll try to run ML’s life too for her own benefit.

13. Growing up poor makes you work hard for a good education and get yourself things you longed for.
    That’s what I did, that’s what my hubby did.
    It seems there are a few who fall through the cracks thinking it should be handed to them every time they say…I want ..!
    Mrs. Mai is beyond greedy, self obsessed, covetous, crass, no class, ignorant, and a menace to her husband, children and all who she knows!
    I guess the previous rich family opened her eyes to being bullies if you want to get ahead.
    Squatters I tell ya! …throw their things out, change all the locks and bar the windows!
