  1. Watching kdramas is a guilty pleasure for me so I never leave comments. This time around I have something to say about the message. The message that what we’re missing all along is loving ourselves I believe is wrong. You can never love yourself properly. Love from yourself to yourself can never fill the void. Nor can love from family or a spouce. Only God’s love can truly satisfy. For me, the very essence of my identity is “loved by God”. There is a verse “love your neighbour (i.e. everyone) like you love yourself” and I’ve always had trouble understanding why we should love ourselves. I kept telling God “God, why should I love myself… “loving me” is something YOU do”.

And infact I’m not very good with being gracious toward myself, being hopefull toward myself, cheering myself on, helping myself like I would help a friend I love. I’m not very good at those things. We should strive to “love ourselves” in this manner. But loving yourself can never truly satisfy your soul. Nor can any human love you in a truly perfect way. But God does. He knows you better than you can ever in your lifetime know yourself. And He loves you. And he LIKES you. He is on your side. He wants to encourage and develop in you the good things He put inside you since before you were born. He will always be real with you and honest with you about your bad traits. Anything wicked, bad, wrong inside you – you can count on God to help you with it. But He will always be kind and loving at the same time. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans chapter 8) God invites you to have an active relationship with Him. There is NOTHING better in this world.

“the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” (Romans chapter 10) God is perfect and loves us in a perfect way. Only His love can truly satisfy our souls and truly fill the void in us. We are made for Him, because He made us. But humankind sinned before the holy and just God. So there was a rift between us and God. No offering could truly satisfy God’s righteousness. No law that people must keep could truly satisfy God’s righteousness and God’s heart. So He Himself became a perfect offering for peace between Him and humankind. Jesus Christ became human, lived without sin and showed us the heart of God. He was crucified for our sins, died on a cross, and rose from the dead on the third day. With this, He not only gave us forgiveness and reconsiliation through a perfect offering, but He also gave us power and access to God through rising from the dead. If you believe in this in your heart and confess it with your mouth (or if you are mute then proclaim it in some other way) you can start afresh your relationship with God. No condemnation for you, but healing, restoration, sanctification and love.

“if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved”

“Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

    Seek God!
