Money Game

Synopsis: “Money Game” is a business drama with a setting that one major bank that the Korean government holds equity in, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Fearing the country might fall into a second “IMF crisis”, people at the Financial Services Commission struggle to prevent another similar incident.

Heo Jae (Lee Sung-Min) is the chairman of the Financial Services Commission who experienced the Korean Financial Crisis in 1997. He thinks the Korean financial infrastructure is powerless and should be improved at any cost. He plans to hand over the bank to the Bahamas, a private equity fund on Wall Street.

Chae Yi-Hun (Ko Soo) is a chief in the Economic Policy Bureau at the Financial Services Commission. He does his best as an economic bureaucrat. His father is one of the country’s best economists, but he hides the identity of his father.

Lee Hye-Joon (Shim Eun-Kyung) works at the International Finance Bureau. During the Korean Financial Crisis, she was only an infant and her family struggled through that time.
