Other name: 我们的翻译官 / 我們的翻譯官 / Wo Men De Fan Yi Guan / The Interpreter / Наш переводчик
Synopsis: Lin Xi, who’s known as the “witch” in the translation industry, reunites with ex-boyfriend Xia Yi Cheng. Eight years ago, she broke up with him for the sake of fulfilling her mother’s wish for her to become a professional interpreter for the United Nations.
Eight years later, Lin Xi has become the youngest chief interpreter at Huasheng while her ex Xiao Yi Cheng has become the chief technology officer of a communications company, which also makes him her potential client.
In order to land a contract with Xiao Yi Cheng, Lin Xi has no choice but to keep dealing with him. She helps his company go public, and even though it seems that Xiao Yi Cheng is out to get revenge on Lin Xi, he actually doesn’t have the heart to be mean to her. Work rekindles their passionate relationship, and Xiao Yi Cheng gradually comes to understand the reason she broke up with him. Together, they work hard to realize their dream of “speaking for the country”.

Lin Xi really has a good set of parents, especially her father, the most likeable personality and character. I still can’t feel Sha Sha and Wei Tian, somehow their CP just still feel odd to me.
I came across this and am on the third episode. I don’t know how the rest of the series will go, but so far I am really enjoying this. Imo, this genre of the drama is either missing these days, or I just don’t watch or keep up with dramas as I used to.
This is the genre of the main couple being ex-lovers. For this to happen, unless it is a high school relationship, there has to be mistakes made by one party and even then it may not be mistake but rather how they reacted in certain circumstances. I saw many comments saying that it’s a double standard because ML would not be accepted if he did the same as FL. I don’t really agree to this as I’m sure there have been older dramas where similar reasons were behind a break-up. And it may be true of others that they would not be accepting of an ML, but that is not the case for me. I am glad to see a storyline in this vein which I haven’t really come across in a long time.
And, I am not really the one who calls everything noble idiocy even if it occurs in the middle or towards the end of a drama. Many times, yes, but In some circumstances and at certain times–certain decisions make sense. And there have been dramas where I understood and didn’t have an issue with ‘noble idiocy.’
And I believe FL made the right choice eight years ago. A lot of dramas in the past few years we see a main character acknowledge the ex’s decision and understand it (I think the first big drama I can recall that kind of started this angle was Cheongdam-dong Alice), and even admit that it made them who they are today, etc–except it’s not the OTP but rather an ex who is a third wheel or arc in main couple’s story.
Here, it’s just that the ex-couple are the main couple and the OTP.
The FL should Relax ! Relax! ehh , I understand you are a carreer woman but she is actually making their romance boring cos she is always talking about work work work and her face is always stiff as if the ML forced her, I think the FL is a good actor but not with romance she should look towards thriller dramas , she would be better off there , we want cute scenes to take us to lala land .This drama could have been better if a better FL was cast. Regardless i will just continue watching as i have nothing else to watch , The ML’s other drama airing “my boss” , i also dont like the FL there, why are they pairing him with the wrong FL!!
Hi everyone, can you spoil me the real reason Linxi leave Yicheng? I’m on ep 3 and so far the drama is quite interesting.
wahahah…nice one. For the ‘greater good’ of China.
I can’t 😂😂 i put this drama on hold but hopped on here to see whats going on and your comment is the first thing i see, im cracking up 🤣
She broke up with him for the great China, so it’s ok, because he also loves China (?) And they lived happily ever after for China. NICE
