  2. The way everyone was cringing away from their flirting during this episode was absolutely hilarious.

    Also, “tell him when Jiang Li and Duke Su are together, they don’t like to be watched” WHAT⁉️⁉️ IM S(CREAMING) PLZZZ. He was toooooo fine during this episode. Pretending that it was her who knocked out the 2 guards in the mine cave, repeatedly protecting her during the entire episode and when she said “I’ll give my life to you” AND HE DECLINED⁉️⁉️ in the early episodes, he would have gladly accepted that offer, but now he’s too emotionally attached and won’t risk her life like that. Also, he raised his voice at her for the first time during this episode during that encounter, rlly shows how much he values her now.

    AND PUTTING THE FLOWERS IN EACH OTHERS’ HAIR AND INSINUATING THAT THEY SHOULD ‘PRETEND’ TO BE LOVERS⁉️🫦🫦
    Just say u want her Duke Su, no need for the pretence of acting it out, we ALL know u want it to be real 😼😼 the plot is THICKENING and I love it.

  5. HELLO?! THAT PROPRIETARY ARM AROUND HER WAIST?! 🔥🔥🔥 also this had me cackling, he really loves the colour red huh?? He chose a gaudy red flower for her and she’s all it’s ugly 😂 also the flower girl cracked me up – the way she recoiled at the pda of our two leads but still not forgetting to upsell her flowers 😂😂

    this cave scene is everything!!! He’s literally her guiding light at the end of the dark tunnel 😭❤️ and the way he’s all possessive no you may not undress other men, however you most definitely should wear my most intimate piece of clothing, here just let me strip in front you here’s my undershirt 🤣

  7. HELP ME this ep was insane. The way he held her hand when she got reminded of the time shen yurong burried her alive in that cave. THE WAY HE GAZED AT HER THEN. Also i lost count of how many times i have repeated 35:00-42:00. Got to be one of my fave eps so far. 😭😭

  8. The romance in this episode was everything….

    And the scene where the guards had to leave the room while they were fighting…. that was such a good scene. The angst there was almost tangible. A lot of times when the romance finally fully enters these types of plots… the ML and FL start losing their character traits when interacting with eachother. The feisty FL becomes pudding in front of the ML and the commanding ML lets the FL walk all over him. Then we are given the ol’, “they are a different person with their lover” excuse.

    I like how here, that did not happen. When the FL started becoming too bossy, the ML checked her and reminded her about his boundaries. When the ML was insinuating that he wanted her to bow out of their mission….she showed her determination by offering her life, and he while he declined that offer, in giving her the cup of tea he accepted she was on board. He did not get in her way any further like we see a lot of MLs do in order to “protect” the FL.

    The reason why I liked how this fight played out was because it showed that the 2 of them respect each other before their romantic feelings. Seeing boundaries being established and believing in their partners goals are healthy relationship dynamics that are often ignored in romance stories.

  10. these suttle moves and flirting is all we need than those jaring repetative romance! how he declared they are lovers is so cute!! way he put that flower and back hug, holding hands he looks like an expert !! she being over bossy and thinks she can walk over him asking for anything…but he wouldnt want to risk her life but will take her help…her flashback in that dark pit with that husband threw her and now Su hold her hands and brings her back to life was so nice!! he dint want her to look at those guards being stripped but he could do it in front of her! hehe!!

  11. The sheer amount of screentime together in this episode was amazing… hello, now we’re talking. But don’t get me started on the sexy, flirty, near chaos that ensued… matching couple outfits, pretend dating, “pretty lady” cutesie talk, shameless PDA, the flowers-in-hair gesture of a married couple, the handholding, not liking to be watched, and the coup-de-gras, him immediately stripping for her AND her not even looking away until the very end?!?

    I NEED their paths to keep converging PLEASE 🤣🤣🤣

  16. Everyone swooning over the male lead’s character clearly has no clue what he’s capable of. He has his own agenda, he may be interested in the female lead but he’d happily kill her without a moment of thought, he may have a regret about doing it but he still would.
    People should read the novel he’s much more ruthless in that. The female lead hates him but uses him…she’s not as helpless as this tv show portrays which has irritated me. In fact she rarely asks for his help, only one time she resorted to requesting for his help & he almost left her to her fate….until she revealed she knew his secret ambition, then he had no choice but to kill her assassins as they heard it…but he came close to eliminating her also… he’s not to be trusted

  24. He poured tea in a cup, drank some and passed it to her. She then looked at it and still thinking, drank from it. It reminded me what they do in a wedding. Was that a simbolic way of showing he agreed to having her as partner in the investigation? Specially when he gave her an asigment as he left….

  27. Confrontation between them was wow . I love the fact that Jiang Li clearly understands the whole plan. She is not unknowingly getting manipulated by Duke Su rather volunteered to join the game for her own agenda. Such strong fl and ml characters are so interesting to watch. Now they have cleared it that they are partners in this political game can’t wait to see how there relationship develops, it’s already blooming

  28. Now the the fog is lifting and a clear picture is being painted. So, there was a specific reason why her father and brother were killed. They knew about the embezzlement scheme that the officials were into. My only question is how does that relate to Princess Wanning??
