  5. So I guess the Emperor knows JL’s real identity…I was happy for literally a split second because the next thing out of his mouth disappointed me sooooo much. He knows Duke Su has feelings for her and he doesn’t care. He wants to use and sacrifice JL for his own benefit.

    Shen’s sister was so obvious when she snuck a peek…how did he not see that? Looks like Shen is getting close to the chopping block… GOOD!!

    Literally every time I watch east asian historical events or learn about them lots of questions and doubts come in my mind ….

    Like he is the emperor …and has no power the court members have more power ???? What about milltery is emperor doesn’t have control over that … Always king show is brain in back stage and on stage he is like puppet…..

    I know their are different clans and rift bw them for power …try to gain mass for support….but it’s show like king have no influence at all anyone can say anything…or do …

    The emperor and Duke su know everything about princess and Li …..so what they are waiting for ??? Punish them ….

    Politics is so hard if one is not clever enough or have some evilness he can’t servive….

    If anyone know about some history of East Asia pls let me know …..Is their any stable king ruled ???
    Like I know some history of India and their are lots of King with their stable rule over 200 yr …and fallen only because of indurder , spy or successor that can’t keep the empire…. For example Asoka the great…. , mugal emperor Akbar…. Maratha ,Chola Empire….

  7. Great episode, things are moving smoothly, Mr Shen might be the next in line of retribution order. I am looking forward to that. We can see that he is shaking in front of his ex-wife!
    We have seen Mrs Jiang J got her own retribution, gone mad, did she though, Ms Jiang LI saw to that. Nothing could be said otherwise!
    I am not happy with that spineless emperor, now he has pulled in the duke in a round about way as a pawn himself, because he is dragging Jiang Li into danger which will rile the duke up, knowing fully well that there’s some love interest between the two of them!

  8. Jiang Li’s father deserves what he is getting now. He sent his 8 year old daughter away and never looked back for her, never inquired how she was doing, never showed any interest in bringing her back. He is a horrible father. Even though he feels guilty now because he knows that he wronged his first wife, concubine and eldest and second daughter for a manipulative murderer, feeling sorry doesn’t make anything better.

    His real daughter is dead and there isn’t anything he can do to bring her back or gain her forgiveness. Xue Fang Fei is not his real daughter nor is she the one he wronged so she can forgive him…. but the Jiang Li who’s life she is living now cannot. I am glad Xue Fang Fei didn’t betray the real Jiang Li by offering comfort and forgiveness to the father that never comforted or forgive the real Jiang Li while she was alive. He needs to live with regret for the rest of his life… that is what he owes his dead daughters.

  9. Guys chill, the emperor doesn’t want to sacrifice Jiang Li, he wants to ensure that the country isn’t full of corrupt officials who harm good people (like Jiang Li’s father). All three of them share the same goal. That is why Duke Su tells Jiang Li (who wasn’t going to participate in the banquet) about Shen Yurong being in charge. She gets it the moment he mentions it and joins in. Her life will only be at risk if they fail, the real target is Shen Yurong aka weaken the Princess and King Cheng.

    And he is right, they are too deep in the play to back off now and feelings will only put them in danger (yes even Jiang Li…imagine if people find out that Duke Su sees Jiang Li as more than a pawn?). Jiang Li already has a target on her back. They cannot afford to lose the kingdom based on emotions. If the lose, the not only Jiang Li, but Xiao Heng and the Emperor’s lives will be in danger and Shen Yurong+Wanning+King Cheng will be the winners.

    And also Duke Su is very cautious when it comes to Jiang Li. The fact that he pushed her to join indicates that he has already ensured her safety.

  12. Not going to mention Jiangs they already ate up our precious leads time for the past three episodes, good riddance of that arc

    Ok i would say todays episode compensated for the less screen time of our Duke Su, but it isnt enough but i will take it

  14. I thought Jiang Li’s father already knew that she was not his daughter by now but why didn’t he clarify this with her? Or he had decided to act blur or refused to acknowledged this since he knew that doing so would bring their family into trouble or add on to his guilt that he sort of indirectly cause the death of his daughter by sending her away for 10 years without any concern?

  15. Can’t wait to see Yurong going down. Well many are disappointed with the Emperor, it’s because we want best or safety of the leads but he is Emperor, no Emperor is innocent, they are always cunning and knows how to use their ministers.. or pawns otherwise they won’t be able to keep the throne. He knows about the identify and also using Xue Fangfei to get rid of king Cheng’s supporters and princess Wanning through Duke Su . Xiao Heng is his right hand man, a trusted subordinate, a person he is using so definitely he won’t want the Duke to have other feelings for another pawn in the game. Both Li and Duke are being used and they are also part taking in this because of their own agendas .
    And if Li isn’t going to face yurong or getting in troubles how will the story move forward. I am already starting to feel sad, I will miss them badly after the drama finishes.

    Too easy for Ji Shu Ran to loose her mind just like that. A conscious suffering was not long enough. I am not satisfied.

    Xue Fang Fei in the name of Jiang Li, didn’t forgive the father. I am satisfied.

    Grandma, you should have come out your coocoon nest years before to protect Jiang Li as a child. You are so late. But your apologies are sincere.

    You may not be fooled but you are slowly going out of your mind knowing she survived your betrayal Shen YuRong, and that’s just the beginning. He has no choice but to wait patiently for her vengeance and he knows it, he can run but he can’t hide 🤣

    Finally finding Haitang, Xiao Heng can’t wait to let Xue know the good news to cheer her up. His mind is filled with her, as usual, lol. I like the he’s the only one that can bring a smile to her weary face in light of everything. But of course the high stakes step in and she is invited to play in another show, which she was already interested in anyway. I admire the emperor’s vision for his country, they have worked hard to get to this point, but his making it clear he will let Xue fall if she isn’t useful is a serious threat. The Duke will not take that lightly.

    And even ShiJie is sensing something strange between Jiang Li and Shen YuRong as he quietly observes everything around her. His one-sided crush on her is strong as ever, showing clearly in his face. And showing clearly towards YuRong… I’m getting a feeling these two will clash over her as they all work together. More fuel to drive YuRong over the edge, haha

  20. I do not like how they handled the step mother’s crimes! She wasn’t even punished for killing several family members including her unborn baby and harming her own daughter when she was the one who said in a previous episode when she got Jiang Li out of jail that “a woman can be put in prison waiting for her trial only if she killed her husband or children” !!!! This is unfair to not only Jiang Li but to her mother and her other step mother and sister and her maid as well … I’m mad!

  21. The way the emperor reacted to Xiao Heng not wanting to put Xue Li in danger made me uneasy! Fingers crossed he does not become an obstacle between these two. At least they gave us a few sweet moments between Xiao Heng and Xue Li after all that tragedy.

    Aside from Shen Yu Rong and Wan Ning, I hope Xue Li goes after his mother and his sister as well. I don’t give a damn about Yu Rong and the torment he is going through, but sheesh, his own mother seems to be oblivious to his torment and only yaps about how the Princess benefited them. Lack of remorse and greedy too.

    “It’s been ten years Ji shu Ran. You had countless chances to save her and yourself but you did nothing. Your current fate is your doing.” And that’s nothing but the truth. She simply enjoyed the luxuries of a wealthy life and continued to be cruel. I dislike the easy ending they gave her. Going crazy is not enough for all the cruel things she has done.

  22. step got away harmless but lost her mind! another wife committed suicide and his main wife was killed slowly and still he dares to ask how is she!! wow what a bewitched husband her dad!! guess he knew all of it including the this gal was not his real daughter but for power he kept quite! she lost one maid and found another! hope her dad gets well! now the next target is the main…he already in transit to get insane but that is not enough! guess he will try once again to remove her! now she is on the list to perform! Duke says he is not entangled to his chess piece and the emperor even warns him..what games these two play..guess he covered her since then.
