Synopsis: About the conflict within the palace to make the troublemaker princes, who cause nothing but headaches for the royal family, into proper crown princes. Im Hwa Ryeong is the mother of the troublemaker princes and the wife of a great king. Instead of having an aura of elegance and grace, Im Hwa Ryeong is a prickly, sensitive, and hot-tempered queen. Although she used to have a calm temper, she changed after people kept pushing her buttons. She is a queen who sometimes lets go of her pride and even swears. Every day of her life is full of trials, but she withstands it all for the sake of her children.

  1. A different take on the Korean Historical dramas, with a more focus on the next generation (Princes).
    I was truly impressed by Moon Sang-min’s performance as Grand Prince Seongnam. He is only 22 but displayed such maturity in his acting and the deep voice he has. I believe he has a bright future ahead of him in acting. He has a natural authoritative voice, statue and piercing eyes. Loved the collaboration between Queen Im Hwa-ryeong and the Grand Prince Seongnam.

    A beautiful drama and worth watching. Thank you to the directors and script writers.

  3. I have just finished the drama.I thought it was going to be about some angry queen, whose boys are nothing good but just mama-boys. But nope, it was a good & interesting drama. can anyone recommend me good movie like this? It doesn’t have to be the same genre or has the same plot.

  6. One of the best historical dramas i have ever watched. It really portrays todays world but in an historical manner. I highly recommend this drama. Everything about it so entertaining and clearly amazing.

  9. Good show, would recommend. This is actually one of the extremely few Korean dramas that I’ve managed to finish lately, because a lot of newer stories are too stupid to watch, even for someone like me who can tolerate a lot. If you like palace intrigue, family drama, and mystery with a pinch of comedy and romance, this is it. There were a few notable anachronisms, but I reckon those were too important to cut. I’m actually glad that Korean audiences can watch those scenes and maybe think about their attitude towards certain issues.
    Some stupid decisions were made by some characters, but it was well written overall. The villains were 50/50 for me, some had good reasons for being bad, some were bad for the sake of being a hindrance. The good guys were good though. A few annoying characters but nobody who stood out to the point of distraction. The cast was ok, again nobody stood out as a distraction due to bad acting. Production was also good, they definitely didn’t scrimp on costumes and sets.
