  1. What a mess. I fell like I’ve missed an entire episode or something. What’s with the sudden supernova romance bridge scene? I’m so lost but also uninterested in this drama, such a shame.

  2. {This comment is FULL of SPOILERS. Don’t come complaining later if you choose to read it before watching the episode.}

    This didn’t start well. First it was Hongjo’s idiotic decision to visit an empty park alone at night while knowing that someone is stalking her and maybe targeting her. Then, it was the bosses’ romance sideplot. “What kind of man asks that?” The kind of man who respects you and your boundaries, you damn idiot! I can’t believe any writer thought this is a valid opinion in 2023, especially after the scene of another woman being stalked! I don’t expect k-dramas to feature diatribes about consent, but this amount of cognitive dissonance is too much. All structural issues aside, this is the kind of stupid s*** that makes a drama unwatchable imo. Then, it looked like a big chunk of connecting scenes was missing between Hongjo being in the park and getting sick. Was there a deeper reason for her illness (like a connection with Shinyu) or was it completely random?

    On the matter of the spells debate: I feel like the writer is going round and round without a clear reason. They FINALLY included some scenes from the past with the very obvious message that supernatural forces do exist in this world. But earlier, they had told us that Shinyu appears to still be ill, therefore the healing spell didn’t work. These two things contradict each other. But this also brings me back to my longtime question: Why didn’t Shinyu check his health status after the healing spell? It didn’t have to happen right the next day, but it’s been several weeks now. This is not a small problem, it’s a life or death situation. How could he possibly be THAT uninterested about his own health? Something just doesn’t add up here.

    As for the creative decision to show almost half (if I’m guessing right) of the past life events together, instead of showing a little bit in the previous episodes and building up to a serious reveal of something, it’s a very rookie plot mistake. Surely, Shinyu has been sleeping at night, so he could have dreamed about these events. And gradually integrating them with the current life events would have been much smoother than spending 1/3 of an episode in the past without any prior explanation.

    As for the Nayeon & the florist ~plot twist, this only causes more questions: So Nayeon isn’t simply cheating on Shinyu, she’s also trying to harm him? I hope this is part of a bigger plan on her behalf and not just a stereotypical “scorned woman” arc. They also implied that the florist knows about the spells. Unless he went into Hongjo’s house, found the extra hidden book, and decided to psychologically torture her like that, it seems clear that he knew about the spells prior to the others. Which means that his connection is much deeper than stalker. Is he a descendant of some antagonist from the Joseon era or does he have immediate knowledge of the past through reincarnation/ possession?

    Lastly, Shinyu’s parents remain insufferable together. I sincerely hope the writer says “f*** Confucian values” and has them divorce so that Shinyu’s mother can ride into the sunset with his lawyer friend. How hilarious would that be?
