  1. Of course Shaoshang started considering a parent’s point of view after seeing some parents actually taking care of their children. The Empress and the Consort may have different approaches to parenting but it’s obvious that they pay attention to what their children do. Unlike some other people who only know how to humiliate their children and punish them because of the choices they made.

    Btw, it’s so amazing that both the Empress and the Consort are not hysterical b****es who fight all day about whose son will sit on the throne and whose daughter is prettier. They can both see that their children are making mistakes and they’re not trying to hide them from the Emperor. I agree with the Empress that the Crown Prince is definitely not Emperor material. The Third Prince is much more level-headed but his maternal family will drag him down. And the Fifth Prince is a loser. I don’t know if Ling Buyi can be a viable candidate for the throne after the current Imperial Family destroy themselves, otherwise the nation is not in good hands.
