  9. What am I supposed to do without Do-Sol on my schedule? They really made my Mondays & Tuesdays exciting!

    This was a full last episode. I’ll begin with the “negative” just to get them out of the way: The whole thing with Solhee’s parents was frustrating. First of all, these two people have no business reconciling when they want different things. Second, I don’t understand why Solhee’s mother is suddenly portrayed as a victim when we have repeatedly seen her being a horrible person. I was annoyed at them but when she asked her ex husband to save her, I became angry. Wtf lady, people need saving from your scamming ways, not the other way around. Solhee is old and mature enough to know better than this tbh.

    This side plot is especially jarring in comparison to Doha’s relationship with his mother. Doha’s mother was wrong when she didn’t trust her son and behaved like an idiot with the whole bribing. But she shouldn’t be shamed for wanting a career. I’m glad Doha told her that. I’m also glad about Doha’s visit to his hyung. Although I have no idea why they decided to include that last piece of information about Eomji.

    Now with the positive: I LOVED that they made full circles out of certain moments (eg the bus and the awards scenes). I loved Doha’s work with the two brothers. I wish we had seen more of this because music was Doha’s salvation for a long time. I loved the fact that Solhee didn’t try to make light of Kangin’s feelings. That’s a very thoughtful thing to do imo. I also loved the fact that the stylist chose a really nice outfit for KSH during the proposal scene.

    Overall, this is one of the healthiest couples in K-dramas imo. They were honest with each other and not only because of Solhee’s ability. They communicated in a way that mattered. I also think they’re both good people without being “unrealistically naive” as some protagonists tend to be. I feel obliged to say that Doha is probably one of the best male leads I’ve ever seen. He always treated Solhee (and almost everyone else) with respect. He never tried to manipulate her or diminish her. That’s so rare in dramas. This couple was such a breath of fresh air. And I know people have been doubting Minhyun’s acting but I think he did fine. Will he win any awards? Most likely not. But I don’t think his presence harmed the character. Instead, I feel like his appearance and vibe really suited Doha.
