  1. Frustrating episode. FL doesn’t want to lose whatever lifestyle she has to become a concubine…understand & respect her decision. But she still wants the King’s affection and shows him romantic concern (not just loyalty), yet cruelly lies that she never wanted to be his woman or loved him. Then, she expects him to disclose all his plans to her as if she is his woman or an advisor?

    She grew up in the palace and after years of directly serving Yi San, she is no wiser on the plotting & manipulation that goes on in the palace. Makes her character look dumb. Even after Court Lady Cho manipulated her as she grew up, she is easily manipulated by the Queen Dowager to distrust & doubt the King. FL says the King is calculating but she doesn’t think the Queen Dowager is? The Queen Dowager has always asked what’s in it for her when the FL asked her for favors.

    FL knows she has no power or protection skills. Yet, she goes off to find the missing maids by herself in a dangerous place knowing Hong Deok-ro kidnapped them with no plan on how to save them or deal with the kidnappers.

    I don’t think the King lied to her about the missing court ladies. Once he confirmed what Deok-ro was doing, he was working to capture Deok-ro & had his guard monitor the situation. FL takes advantage of the King’s love for her to influence him & thinks he should act at the pace she wants & take her feelings into consideration as if that’s all the King has to factor. He knows she’s rash so it makes sense he didn’t update her on his plan.

  3. this King seems weak and useless…. he knows there’s a traitor right in front of him yet he lets him live. He doesn’t have enough respect for the court ladies who have literally given up their life to work for him. He doesn’t even respect Deok im’s decisions and this is the second time he forced a kiss??

  13. Actually she was inlove with the king but I think she is more inlove with her self. Actually we could be like that. We deny our feelings to that person because we don’t like to be on that situation. Maybe she is currently inlove with the King she just possibly want to love that person from afar. Pakipot masyado si ate para ibigin tsk.

    1. I kind of understand her though. Even if she decides to become his lover, she will only be a concubine. The King will have to marry another woman with a higher status who will be the Queen. DukIm said so herself in a different episode, “if I can’t have all of him, I’d rather not have him at all.. because I love myself.” I think she’s very honest and is just trying to look out for herself. Think about all the drama/heartache she will have when the future Queen is jealous that the King only loves DukIm. And it will be the King’s “duty“ to sleep with the Queen too…

      I guess for this storyline’s case though, the King can reinstate DukIm’s status since her dad was the previous Prince’s personal guard or something… ??‍♀️

  17. I dislike the FL tbh. Its ep 14 and she still doesn’t trust him, while he trusts her. She thinks the worst of him, and even thinks that he doesn’t care about the maids That can not be called love bc she doesn’t truly know him. He deserves better. I felt like they were strangers in this ep. Disappointment…

    2. yes I find this so true like I have been watching this show since it came out and she still does not trust him but he does but I found it messed up in this episode when he tried to kiss her without her permiission or consent.

    3. i disagree with you. i stand with deok im and not with the king. did you hear he speak lowly of the court ladies? i mean he told deok im that she is just a court lady. plus he knew all along that the royal secretary was a traitor yet he forgave him countless of times. head court lady jo somehow has a point with what she fought for saying that she does not trust any king and that the palace only thinks lowly of them. it’s frustrating that the king is seemingly acting like he does not care about the ladies plus he does not even know how to respect the decisions of deok im.
